Lifelong friends and occasional lovers Bill and Ted have always had each other's backs. And whenever one asks the other for a favor, neither of them ever has to think twice. So when Bill asks Ted to apply his investigative skills on someone, Ted is immediately on the case. Bill is suspicious about the activities of a recent hire named Fred, who seems to be gay and is on his staff in the accounting department. More than finding out Fred's sexual orientation, however, Bill is concerned Fred might be engaging in industrial espionage. He enlists the help of Ted to find out. Ted does his sleuthing around and is lucky when Fred comes on to him and invites him to his place for dinner. Ted forgets his mission and becomes Fred's lover. They continue to see each other for a month. And then one day, Fred drops a bomb on Ted: he divulges the reason why he is working for Bill and what his motives are. He is an undercover investigator looking into charges of embezzlement that has been going on in the company. He has also discovered who the thief was.
